AECOM Sr. Geotechnical Lead in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Job Summary

AECOM’s Environment Business Line is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Lead to join our team of professionals in our Winnipeg office. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative multinational team focused on delivery of superior services to our clients. This is a challenging position for a self-motivated individual that offers an excellent opportunity for career growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical expertise in support of on-going AECOM geotechnical projects

  • Lead other geotechnical staff to provide services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local and regional collaborative opportunities

  • Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants and external agencies

  • Conduct technical review and undertake comprehensive analysis and design for geotechnical components related to municipal, utilities, building structures, mining, energy projects, roads and other civil infrastructure projects

  • Work with the team on projects in the MB, and collaborate on projects across Canada.

  • Support growth and business development for the team.

  • Performs various responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.

  • Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.

  • Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.

  • Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.

  • Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.

  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.

  • Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

  • Supervises group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 Years of related experience or Diploma/Certificate + 8 Years of related experience or HS/GED + 10 Years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Civil/Geotechnical Engineering

  • B.Sc. in related Civil /Geotechnical Engineering

  • P.Eng. registration Minimum of 12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment

  • Experience leading a team of technical staff

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Manitoba

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety & quality management Exceptional communication skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making and efficient implementation

  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership with a track record of managing professionals and projects in a consulting environment

  • A proven ability to analyze data, write reports, provide quality control and assurance and present results to clients
