Job Summary

AECOM's Buildings and Places department is actively seeking a Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Winnipeg, MB office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of power distribution, lighting and instrumentation and control systems

  • Design and specification development for electrical distribution systems, lighting and low tension systems (fire alarm, telecommunications and security) focused in low voltage applications

  • Design and specification of instrumentation and process control devices for various processes including water/wastewater treatment and industrial applications

  • Design experience in with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects. Exposure to Water and Waste Water treatment processes an asset

  • Design experience with Roadway, Highway Bridges and Interchange lighting and control

  • Direct and mentor less experienced Engineers and production staff

  • Prepare Electrical fee estimates for proposal Capture Managers

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs for the Winnipeg office and other AECOM offices

  • Assist in the team achieving engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis and reports) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices

  • Work closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team

  • Required ability to manage, organize and participate in multiple work assignments including production support of contract documents as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution

  • 2+ years related industry experience with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects

  • Registration with EGM or ability to obtain EGM Registration

  • Applicable experience in electrical design including power distribution and fire alarm systems

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills; proven interpersonal skills and ability to work within multi-discipline environment

  • Some projects will require security clearances, no criminal record

  • Must possess a valid driver license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years related industry experience with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects

  • Experience in Water and Waste Water facilities

  • Experience with Industrial electrical power distribution

  • Instrumentation/Controls (I&C) design experience

  • Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (NEC or IEC exposure is an asset)

  • Familiarity with the Manitoba Building Code and National Energy Code

  • Proficient in the use of power analysis software such as ETAP and SKM is an asset

  • Proficient in the use of AGI32 Lighting Design software

  • Fire Alarm verification experience

  • Experience with a variety of computer aided design platforms including Revit MEP, AutoCAD and Microstation

  • Business development experience
