AECOM Construction Engineering Technician - Camp Lejeune in Wilmington - NC, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking multiple Construction Engineering Technician's on our client site located at Camp Lejeune, NC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Quality Assurance

  • Incumbent must successfully complete the “CQM for Contractors” course associated with the ACOE.

  • Provide relevant remarks on Government Quality Assurance (QA) reports (or in identified section of Contractor’s Quality Control (QC) reports), particularly on critical, definable features of work included.

Safety Management

  • In conjunction with the CM, perform cursory review of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and ensure via the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) that these are discussed by the construction contractor and their respective subcontractors prior to beginning each work activity or when a new work crew is to perform the work in accordance with the three phases of QC.

Technical Support

  • Support extensive contact with key construction contractor representatives to promote an atmosphere of partnering and cooperation and to quickly resolve problems and maintain construction schedule.

Contracting Officer Support

  • Reviewing contractor invoices for accuracy against actual work-in-place. Recommend approval/disapproval/partial payment to CM.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree + 2 years of relevant experience, OR Associates Degree + 4 years of relevant experience, OR High school diploma or GED equivalent + 6 years of relevant experience

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen

  • Shall be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing long periods of time

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, and variable indoor/outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, radiation, and vibration; position requires frequent standing/walking, and performing work in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; often operating vehicles, and performing keyboard/mouse operations; occasionally performing work with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending & stooping, climbing stairs, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; rarely power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working at heights, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, repetitive or fine hand movements, working alone in isolated/remote areas, and lifting of 25-50 pounds. Position will include wearing all associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, gloves, hearing protection, and fall protection.

  • Important Note: Due to the hazard posed by heavy, moving, and/or dangerous equipment, this position requires, at a minimum, the completion of a 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction Safety and Health, aka the OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training in Construction. If this position includes, currently or in the future, any supervisory responsibility, the completion of a 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction Safety and Health, aka the OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training in Construction, is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of verified experience as a Quality Control Manager working for General Contractors on NAVFAC or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) projects OR 10 years of verified foreman experience in one or more of following trades: Concrete; Mechanical; Electrical; Masonry; or Carpentry on commercial/industrial/military projects. Residential experience does not qualify

  • Possess OSHA 10 training preferably
