Job Summary
The Civil Engineering Department of AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is actively seeking Civil Engineers for immediate employment in our Wilmington, DE office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Oversees the production of highway design tasks
Provides technical direction to and mentors younger engineers
Ensures corporate quality procedures are followed
Meets client quality, schedule, and budget expectations
Interacts with clients and oversees sub-consultants
Assists Project Managers with various tasks including developing scope, schedule, and budgets for projects
Design of small to large-scale Highway Improvement Projects (bridge replacements, corridor widening interchange/intersection improvements)
Design responsibilities will include:
Horizontal/vertical geometry
Superelevation,
Intersections/interchanges
ADA
Utilities
Barrier protection
Maintenance of traffic
Signing
Pavement markings
Drainage
ROW
Stormwater management/best management practices
Erosion and sediment pollution control (E&S)
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with an interest in Transportation/Highways or other related field required
2+ years of experience for level II/ 5+ years of experience for level III
Proficient with utilizing design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation/InRoads
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering Registration within Delaware
Experience with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike projects
Experience with Hydrology and hydraulics, Stormwater management and permitting
Experience in multiple elements of civil engineering design related to transportation projects including, but not limited to the following:
Plan and construction documents preparation (engineering analysis, plans, reports, specifications and cost estimate)
Highway design (alignments, geometry, cross section, guardrail, traffic control, etc.)
Site grading and drainage
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) design
Utilities
Right-of-way
Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control
Understanding of DelDOT design procedures and requirements
Previous project experience working on DelDOT projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good analytical skills to interpret data and modeling results
Responsible for the effective management of own time and effort, in accordance with project priorities and objectives
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and oversee work of less experienced engineers
