AECOM Senior Municipal Designer /CAD Technologist in Whitby, Ontario

Canada - Ontario, Whitby

Job Summary

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Municipal Designer/CAD Technologist to join our Whitby, Ontario office location immediately. This is a great opportunity for individuals who like to collaboratively deliver successful projects and who have potential ambitions to grow their career beyond strictly design-based duties.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting and design of various civil, road and municipal infrastructure projects

  • Occasional site inspection and field assignments

  • Design calculations and peer review of drawings by more junior staff

  • Specification writing

  • Quantity take-off calculations

  • Liaise/coordinate with other disciplines in the preparation of design drawings and tender documents for multi-disciplinary projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • 6+ years of related experience with civil /municipal projects

  • Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil-3D

  • Understanding of engineering surveys and drawings

  • Sound working ability with MS Office

  • Valid driver’s license required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • CET and/or P.Eng. designation

  • 10+years of civil /municipal project experience, preferably in Ontario

  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Bentley Microstation and InRoads software

  • Ability to learn quickly, and communicate effectively

  • Specification writing experience
