Over the past several years AECOM has participated and will continue to participate in major Alternative Delivery P3 and Design-Build projects in Canada such as the Gordie Howe International Bridge, Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Waterloo LRT, Honorable Herb Gray Parkway, Metrolinx’s Regional Express Rail, Edmonton LRT, Finch LRT, Hurontario LRT, Hamilton LRT and our most recent major win of the Réseau Express Métropolitain (also known as the Montreal LRT). Either as the Owner Engineer or as the Contractor’s Engineer AECOM Canada is acting as a Centre of Excellence for the delivery of P3 projects in North America.

Our Alternative Delivery Group is seeking an energetic BIM Manager who is interested in advancing their career by joining the team leading the above exciting high profile and complex multi-disciplinary transportation projects and who is able to work and coordinate closely with ADG management, in-house architectural, general engineering, and civil design discipline teams to deliver high quality design deliverables with the use of sophisticated BIM software. The successful candidate will be based in either AECOM’s Mississauga, Ontario office or Whitby, Ontario office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with team leaders from various design disciplines for consistent BIM execution for coordinated project delivery

  • Collaborate and coordinate efforts of multi-discipline teams across various offices in multiple cities

  • Development of BIM implementation and execution plans, marketing materials, and project qualifications statements

  • Developing and delivering customized training to various design disciplines

  • Disseminate and support document control of standards, policies, guidelines and protocols related to BIM

  • Work independently, and manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines

  • Non-project management project, or non-core, work could include some or all of design reviews, scheduling, report writing, presenting

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant work experience

  • 8+ years of experience

  • Understanding of the practice of architecture, engineering and construction

  • Experience in a multi-discipline design or construction environment with small-to-large project delivery

  • Solid understanding of BIM standards (national and international), guidelines and protocols

  • Mastery of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD and Microstation, Civil 3D

  • Proficiency with Dynamo visual scripting tool

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Access, Excel, Project, and Word

  • Proficiency with C4R, BIM 360 Glue, Infraworks

  • Experience with ReCap 360 and point-cloud based modeling

  • Knowledge of contractual delivery methods

  • Excellent management, planning, organization and communication skills

  • Experience in coordination of BIM development during various phases of the Design Build delivery projects including execution phase

  • Experience in coordination of 3D model development with Design Build Contractors BIM Team, extraction of quantities from the 3D model, delivery of clash free models

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python programming experience desired

  • Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper visual scripting tools preferred

  • Experience with Dassault 3D Experience
