AECOM Buildings & Places business line is seeking a Project Coordinator for immediate employment in the Whitby, ON office.
The successful candidate will join our Project Delivery Group supporting our Project Managers in coordinating the design activities mainly for transit projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assists the Project Manager with planning and execution of project activities for multi disciplinary building engineering design projects,
Coordinates project work with design groups such as Architecture, Industrial, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, rails, and Civil,
Plays an active role in records management, budget tracking, and scheduling, and
Prepares meeting minutes, reports, and other documents.
Attends site visits and Clients’ meeting.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or relevant field of study) and 2 years related professional experience working as a project coordinator in an engineering business or demonstrated equivalency of experience or education.
Registered or in process to register with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
5+ years of experience preferred
Experience coordinating and preparing design submissions for Site Services Connections and Building Permit approvals
Experience working within a consulting engineering business,
Must have an understanding of fundamental building science,
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation,
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, AutoCAD, MicroStation, prepare word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.,
Team player with excellent listening skills; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives,
Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency,
Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills,
Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills, and
Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively.
