Under the responsible charge of a Design Engineer, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Highway and Municipal Roadway designer for MTO and municipal projects
Design for grading and drainage
Design of utility protection and relocation
Design of roads and parking lots
Construction staging design
Undertake concept, preliminary, and detailed designs
Coordination of third party stakeholders
Prepare quantity take-offs
Evaluate technical alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines.
Work in a team environment, collaborating with Project Managers and organizing and directing junior / technical staff
Prepare technical memoranda outlining design options, impacts, and recommendations
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
4+ years of experience required
Experience in design development and production of construction drawings for MTO and/or municipal projects
Extensive experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D or MicroStation and Bentley InRoads
Technical writing skills
Ability to work independently
P.Eng. licensed in Ontario or eligible for licensing
Familiarity with municipal and road authority standards
MTO experience is an asset
Construction field experience
CAD Management and Leadership
