AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Architect for immediate employment in the Whitby office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing clients and work

  • Identifying potential clients and work

  • Assisting Architecture Manager in the development of new business, and marketing efforts

  • Leading the A/E design efforts on major projects

  • Providing technical and professional guidance for less experienced staff

  • Preparing studies and providing peer reviews

  • Organizing and planning projects and preparing hours estimates

  • Assisting in the development of architectural standards and procedures

  • Providing quality control reviews

  • Providing advice and consultation to clients on architectural matters, including compliance with codes and regulations

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture

  • 8 years of related experience with Architectural or A/E firm

  • Licensed as a Registered Architect (OAA)

  • Extensive experience in developing and prepare construction documents

  • Significant experience with the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) construction sector.

  • Strong technical skills related to planning, and architectural design and detailing

  • Experience coordinating work, civil, structural and M&E disciplines

  • Field experience with observing construction progress and capable of providing construction administration services

  • Ability to clearly communicate with Clients and peers

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCad and Microsoft Office Applications

  • Diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields

  • Project Management and Client management skills

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education/post-secondary based project experience

  • Experience in mentoring and supervising less experienced staff architects

  • Active in professional societies

  • LEED status

  • Ability to obtain a security (secret level) clearance if needed

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Positive attitude

  • Vision for career growth
