AECOM Competitive Intelligence Analyst in West Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced

Competitive Intelligence Analyst that will work as a member of the Strategic Pricing team in

Chantilly, VA .

This position is open to remote work within the DC area. The candidate would need to be in the local Chantilly office once a week at minimum.

The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will be a member of the Price-to-Win (PTW) Team within Management Services. This person must have initiative and be a creative thinker, as he/she will have substantial latitude to overhaul and redesign the department’s overall approach to Competitive Intel Collection and Processing. This person will be required to collect and develop competitive intelligence, create competitor profiles and competitive landscapes, organize and validate collected intelligence for easy access, and present findings and conclusions to Executives and other internal stakeholders as needed in support of major bids on Government Contracts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Interface with Capture, BD and Operations SMEs within and outside AECOM in order to get a more thorough understanding of the competitive landscape associated with specific bids

  2. Use publicly available (open-source) paid subscription tools, other online sources, external contacts and creativity to collect useful insights and competitive intelligence related to specific opportunities

  3. Attend conferences, industry days, trade shows, etc. in order to network and collect actionable intelligence to help develop understanding of competitive landscape

  4. Organize collected and existing competitive intelligence data into user-friendly databases or folders to facilitate and enable ready access for multiple users

  5. Analyze collected data for trends and potentially useful insights and share findings with PTW team and internal customers

  6. Weed out the useful information from various sources and eliminate the chaff

  7. Prepare information for Black Hat reviews regarding competitors

  8. Collect and analyze customer spending and budget data related to bid opportunities

  9. Identify key decision makers in the bid process for our competitors and the factors or traits which influence their decision-making behavior

  10. Collect information related to typical estimating approach, assumptions and benchmarks/metrics used by our competitors for different types of work.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in competitive intelligence and pricing analysis in the Government environment.

  • In lieu of degree requirement, must have at least 16 years of experience in competitive intelligence and pricing analysis in the Government environment.

  • Experience gathering competitive intelligence and developing competitor profiles and/or competitive landscapes.

  • Deep familiarity with RFP’s.

  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, analytical and writing skills.

  • May require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Sciences degree.

  • Price-to-win experience in the Government environment is preferred.

  • Active Top Secret clearance preferred.

  • Excellent presentation and networking skills.

  • Strong database development skills.

  • Multiple years of experience pricing for Government contracts.

  • Experience with estimating staffing and materials requirements for Facility O&M, Construction, Aircraft Maintenance, Ground Vehicle Maintenance, and/or nuclear waste management and remediation.
