Job Summary

AECOM’s Construction Services business is expanding! We have an exciting opportunity for a proven Project Manager to deliver a variety of projects based in our diverse Wellington CBD office. This is an opportunity to grow your experience as a Project Manager across variety industry sectors such as; Aviation, Defence, Healthcare, Education, Housing and Civil Infrastructure.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who might be looking for more client-facing exposure to step in to a diverse and fast-paced project management team and develop a career as a client-side Project Manager.

As a Project Manager in AECOM Construction Services, you can expect to make an impact and be involved in projects from concept-completion while working with some of our best leaders in the delivery of complex projects at various stages of lifecycle. You will be capable and confident in working with clients (internal/external) and have a strong interest in developing your career towards full concept-completion Project Management.

Minimum Requirements

In order to be considered for a Project Management position in AECOM Construction Services, you will ideally hold most or all the following attributes;

  • Bachelor's degree in building engineering, civil engineering, building services or similar

  • 4 years’ upwards in project or construction experience, ideal

  • Strong interest in career development towards client-side Project Management

  • Confident communicator, with an ability to write reports and communicate verbally with a variety of stakeholders to generate rapport and buy-in

  • Demonstrable experience in multiple managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements, ideally in varied market sectors

  • A strong sense of commitment and willingness to learn with a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven environment

  • Broad background in civil construction projects highly beneficial; Airports, Defence, Education, Housing, Healthcare, Utilities

  • Thrive in team working environments with an interest to learn and develop Project Management techniques and methods

  • A basic understanding of a consultancy and Project Management frameworks, alongside how effective Project Management can be used to greatly benefit a client in terms of efficiencies, costing and timelines

  • Evidence in commercial and financial acumen on civil construction projects

  • Strong ability to influence and confidence in negotiation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in building engineering, civil engineering, building services or similar

  • AIPM or similar Project Management or Engineering accreditation
