Job Summary

Our Building Engineering team has a rare opening for an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This brilliant opportunity would suit someone looking to become a key member of our Building Engineering team and deliver mechanical services to our clients throughout the lower North Island.

Our projects span a diverse range of sectors including Defence, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial and Data Centres. You will have full responsibility to plan, manage and deliver all mechanical engineering aspects for these projects within budgets and timelines. Naturally, the role will also include developing and enhancing relationships with our fantastic clients.

You will be working closely with our talented engineers and designers and will have instant access to a huge global knowledge base with our extensive online technical practice networks. The opportunity to bring your own approach to the team and grow our market offering also exists.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Full delivery of mechanical engineering scope from concept through to detailed design, in adherence to project quality systems, programme and budgets

  • Managing project stakeholder engagement, project brief confirmation and sign off

  • Coordinating mechanical spatials and reticulation with the building services, architecture and structural design

  • Undertaking site inspections and prepare memoranda of inspection

  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will be able to confidently demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified i.e. Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)

  • Proven experience in designing to AS/NZS standards and NZ Building Codes

  • Good understanding of energy efficiency design

  • Competent in the use of Revit

  • Experience in managing projects and budgets to meet time and resource requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in working in and managing multi-disciplinary project teams

  • Ability to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of outputs

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Proven experience in (buildings) hydraulic systems design is preferred

  • Experience in a design consultancy practice is highly desirable

  • Professional registration such as CPEng is advantageous

  • Experience working on MCHF/SHF split contracts is highly desirable
