The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Electrical Engineer to join our specialist building services team in Wellington. The role is ideal for an experienced professional with a solid technical background who is looking for the next step in their career.

The projects you will be working on cover a diverse range of sectors including Healthcare, Education and Commercial. You will be working with driven professionals who are passionate, smart, creative, curious and quirky. In this role, you will work closely with our terrific M&E Team Leader and play an integral part in delivering key building projects giving you the opportunity to showcase your expertise to our valued clients.

You will be primarily responsible for tasks such as:

  • Design of electrical building services including (LV) distribution, power and lighting, emergency lighting fire detection systems, communications, IT infrastructure and security systems

  • Preparation of design, specifications, reports, calculations, drawings and cost estimates

  • Project controls including QA and document control

  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring programmes for scheduling and reporting on deliverables

  • Undertaking site inspections

  • Preparing reports

  • Development of in house technical documentation

Minimum Requirements

About You

You will have a strong technical background and your ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively will help you to work with the broader team to deliver the right solution, on time, every time.

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering

  • Working knowledge of applicable NZ, ANZ and global standards

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience delivering electrical services design including lighting, general and specialist power, generators, UPS systems, earthing / lighting protection, power distribution and reticulation

  • Sound knowledge of electrical wiring regulations

  • Ability to coordinate and liaise effectively with clients and contractors

  • Experience of construction phase assistance and inspections

  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal)

  • Self-motivated with an enthusiasm for technical excellence

  • Team Player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer
