Currently we are actively seeking a creative and highly talented Bridges & Structures Junior Designer for newly established GDS based in Warsaw.
Independently preparing design calculations or reports for bridges and structures.
Verifying that applicable codes and engineering standards practices are being met.
Resolving issues or problems concerning with conflicting design requirements, specifications and or difficult coordination requirements.
Performing constructability reviews of designs.
Working as part of a Bridges & Structures team with other designers at the same functional level.
Interacts sporadically with internal client.
Identifying discrepancies, incoherencies and format errors in results.
Proposing new options to afford new technical problems.
Assisting with technical proposals to provide services
Receiving instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
Independently evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Assigning tasks to and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
Supervising calculations by less experienced staff.
Training less experienced staff.
Comply with statutory, project and AECOM-specific health and safety requirements.
Working knowledge of bridges and structures design.
Working knowledge of types of international codes and standards ( AASTHO; Eurocodes; British Standards , etc.)
Proficiency using various software packages for analysis and design such as MIDAS, STAAD, ETABS, SAP, SAFE , etc.
Basic knowledge of engineering techniques for bridges and structures.
Proven commitment to Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
Fluent in English and Polish (oral and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
4+ years in civil and infrastructure projects, working on bridges and structures designs
Experience working in the North America region will be considered favorably
US Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
Working knowledge and understanding of the external environment that influences success
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University
