AECOM is seeking a Landscape Architect to be based in Markham/Thornhill. Employee will work from home due to COVID to start, and will work out of office when safe.

AECOM's Urbanism and Planning Practice, within the Buildings + Places business line, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Landscape Architect. The successful candidate will primarily service clients in southern Ontario and provide support to the Buildings + Places team in Ontario.
Provide support to the Managing Senior Landscape Architect
Coordinate with clients, municipalities and internal staff
Collaborate with management on preparation of project proposals; contribute to landscape architectural development of proposals.
Project work to include commercial developments, industrial developments, parks, transit projects, public facility sites, buffers, highways and streetscapes
Prepare creative and innovative plans and designs for clients conceptual and detailed design, tendering and construction review services.
Prepare sketches, design drawings, contract documents.
Drawing co-ordination with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and environmental disciplines as needed.
Assistance with construction contract administration – shop drawings, change orders, and as-built drawings.
Assisting senior level staff as directed.
Ensuring designs conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.
Participate as a productive member of a design team. Demonstrated experience and aptitude designing soft and hard landscapes in urban settings.
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have at least:
University degree in Landscape Architecture or related field of study
4 years of relevant experience in the Landscape Architectural design of parks, municipal, commercial, industrial, institutional facilities, transportation and emergency services.
OALA Full member with Stamp.
We would prefer candidates with the below:
Advanced schooling in Landscape Architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution an asset.
Experience with light rail transit and MTO projects an asset.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office preferred.
Well organized, self-directed work habits with an ability to prioritize and schedule tasks in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skill proficiency effectively communicating complex design or technical issues
Knowledge of environmental systems and construction detailing
Construction phase experience in contract administration and field review
Experience in Business development and Project Management of Landscape Architectural projects.
Excellent knowledge of and experience in AutoCAD, Microstation, Sketch-up, Photoshop, 3D Max.
Desire to grow within an exciting multi-disciplinary office
Construction phase experience in contract administration and field review is an asset.
