AECOM’s Sydney Planning and Design Team (Design + Planning) has an immediate requirement for an Associate Director – Strategic and Statutory Planning with particular skills in precinct planning, urban renewal and infrastructure. We are looking for a recognised industry leader with strong communication capabilities to manage our planning team whilst growing the planning pipeline. Focus areas for the role are:
Develops a strong client base in Strategic and Statutory Planning.
Provides leadership and direction for the team, is a mentor and coach.
Furthers the teams technical skills and knowledge.
A natural collaborator with the ability to work closely with the urban design team and all parts of the AECOM business.
Takes overall responsibility for project delivery, client engagement and the financial performance of the planning team.
Is accountable for interfacing with the Performance & Rewards (review) process
A clear and open communicator who communicates early and often with the team and within the business.
You will work with our design team, engineers, architects and planners, driving the growth of the Planning sector across Australia, including market analysis, strategy development, business planning and business development.
You will work with other senior professionals to build AECOM’s business and brand, ensuring the business is responsive and sensitive to market conditions and client expectations.

Min. Bachelor's Degree in Planning or related
15+ years of experience in planning at a wide range of scales and densities
Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates excellent technical capabilities
Strong business development skills; ability to find, pursue and win business opportunities
Previous experience in successfully managing teams or operating group
Ability to lead and build a team and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
