Job Summary

AECOM Construction Services are a team of Project and Construction Management specialists who operate across diverse and complex construction projects from concept to completion.

Our client-centric approach ensures we manage projects closely with clients and in their best interests, while providing key support and advisory services across Defence, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Education, Mining, Power and Energy construction projects.

This is a fixed-term opportunity for a suitable Project Manager to start immediately and commit to the project until at least June 2020, while working closely with RMS and State Government stakeholders.

The Role

Our current opportunity with AECOM Construction Services will provide the Project Manager with an opportunity to work closely with State Government in the delivery of Easing Sydney’s Congestion program. This role will develop and/or deliver key infrastructure across Sydney’s busiest suburbs, creating a positive and noticeable impact on traffic management across the city.

The Project Manager will be focussed in delivering a program of works with time, cost, quality and scope objectives to meet client requirements within a delivery-based project management office. This will start as a fixed-term opportunity initially until June 2020, with the likelihood of a long-term extension.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the delivery of projects covering municipal infrastructure related to transport infrastructure to the values of up to $50M per package, liaising with the client to ensure expectations are satisfied and managing the team through to successful completion.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful Project Manager on our Easing Sydney’s Congestion program, you will be able to provide evidence of;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction, Engineering or similar discipline

  • Demonstrated experience in managing major infrastructure or other complex projects, such as road, bridge, maritime

  • A strong knowledge of project implementation, including contract management, or project development, including environmental planning and assessment processes.

  • Proven background and knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in varied infrastructure project construction, and demonstrated experience in the effective implementation of Quality Assurance systems, WH&S, risk environmental management and related computer-based management tools for projects.

  • Demonstrated ability as an effective manager, with high level skills in the leadership and management of multi-disciplinary teams, demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders and the proven ability to lead and motivate project teams in construction industry projects.

  • High level communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels and demonstrated capability to develop flexible and workable solutions to meet Roads and Maritime customer expectations.

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the preparation of tender documentation, tendering procedures and/or overseeing professional service and/or construction contractors including undertaking the role of authorised delegate.

  • Proven high level project management skills, strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative and flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior RMS or State Government transport project exposure is highly regarded

  • Project Management Diploma or similar would be strongly considered
