Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will support multiple projects and deliver the design on a wide range of projects. The successful candidate will be experienced in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically design focused and with experience across a multitude of development types including commercial office, residential, retail, hospitality, education and light industrial. You will be involved in all aspects of design of HVAC for projects including BMS, criticality, sustainability, regulatory requirements and integration with other disciplines. You will also manage smaller projects from time to time and input into work winning and the bidding process.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the preparation and review of mechanical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for the design projects.

  • Responsible for the participation in the progress and coordination meetings of the design projects and the preparation of the meeting records.

  • Liaison and coordination with all applicable Local Authority Departments to obtain approval on design projects.

  • Review of works produced by more junior engineers and the necessary coordination with other Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design projects.

  • Responsible for the design review of the mechanical or electrical services.

  • Provide and coordinate mechanical design output and assist the Principal Engineer or Associate Director

  • Prepares complex design computations in quantity estimates. May serve as an on-site project representative.

  • Performs complex technical work in support of project work.

  • Recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all local regulations.

  • Significant-level exercise of judgement is required on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptions of engineering alternatives.

  • Preparing technical proposals and reports

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in design and delivery of large-scale building projects within the consulting industry (preferable). Applicants would ideally have in managing mid-sized teams on high profile, retail, commercial, residential, hospitality or education projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required

  • Working towards chartership or already chartered
