Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a General Clerk/Mailroom Clerk supporting our program in Springfield, VA. The selected candidate will prepare incoming mail for distribution and processes outgoing mail. Distribute and collect mail, determine and affix postage and maintain records on postage, registered mail and packages without direct supervision. This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence.

Responsibilities also include complying with and supporting established procedures to encompass inbound and outbound mail processing, including unclassified and classified mail up to and including TS/SCI and using proper handling procedures for all classified mail in addition to overseeing pickup and delivery schedules.

The Clerk III selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of records; verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; The Clerk III can be expected to operate independently on occasion, with little or no supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active, full adjudicated TS/SCI clearance is required.

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills and conduct business with professional etiquette.

  • Experience in demonstrating flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high volume, fast paced production environment.

  • Push a loaded mail cart up to the equivalent of four miles daily, lift bins and bags during mail delivery.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds per package and maneuver up to 75 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mail Processing, Mail Metering, Registry and Courier experience desired.

  • Previous experience operating electric and manual pallet jacks.
