AECOM Airport Planner, Aviation, Asia in Shatin, N.T., Hong Kong

Job Summary

Working under the direction of the APAC and Asia Aviation leadership team as part of the HK Transportation Group, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to join a dynamic and well established airport planning team servicing all of Asia.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Airport master planning including air traffic forecasting, airside planning, passenger terminal planning, landside transportation planning.

  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, including architecture, engineering, financial, environmental and other discipline streams, for airport planning and design projects.

  • Project management and leadership of airport master planning and design projects in accordance with AECOM standards and procedures, including project financial management & performance and quality reviews of deliverables.

  • Act as client’s main point of contact for projects and take responsibility for client relationships and satisfaction.

  • Lead technical feasibility studies for aviation and airport planning activities and take responsibility for the production of technical reports, drawings, specifications and other documents.

  • Phase and program aviation project planning and design works.

  • Appoint and manage specialist sub-consultants when required.

  • Liaise with consultants and stakeholders as required during planning and design phases of airport/aviation projects.

  • Staff management, engagement and mentoring.

  • Technical and financial bid/proposal management.

Minimum Requirements

Competencies

  • Recognized degree in civil engineering, transportation planning or architecture.

  • Chartered Planner/Engineer from a recognized institute, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in planning, engineering, infrastructure, facilities design or project management of airport projects.

  • Very good command of English (spoken, written, listening).

  • Mandarin Chinese language skills are an advantage.

  • Confident presenter/public speaker.

  • Strong software skills including Microsoft packages, CAD and other specialized airport planning/design software.

  • Ability to identify, understand and focus on clients’ key requirements and build relationships.

  • Strong team player, ability to work closely with colleagues.

  • Good team leadership skills. Ability to lead a technical team and to develop/mentor staff.

  • Ability to self-manage; a self-starter who is energetic and pro-active.

  • Integrity in dealing with clients and staff.
