Job Description
AECOM is looking for an Air Quality Technician in Sault Ste Marie, ON. This is a Part-time - Regular role.
The role will include the following responsibilities.
Ambient Monitoring Network Support
Installation and decommissioning of ambient air monitoring equipment.
Coordination with equipment suppliers and laboratories.
Routine operations including trouble shooting, equipment calibration and data collection.
Tracking the equipment performance and alerts.
Air Pollution Control and Industrial Ventilation
Familiarity with the air pollution control system and technologies.
Knowledge of air emissions from multiple sources and quantification.
System and equipment sizing.
Preparation of process calculations, technical documents and reports.
Odour Control System
Knowledge of wastewater processes.
Involvement with odour control technologies.
Familiarity with the basic principles on odour generation, capture and treatment.
Field data collection and interpretation.
General
Understanding of various Transportation, Industrial and Chemical sector processes.
Knowledge of air emissions from multiple sources.
Familiarity with air pollution control systems and concepts.
Preparation of technical documents and reports.
Work with internal teams and external clients.
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or higher.
4+ years of relavent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of relavent experience.
College Degree as an Environmental or Civil Technician or Technologist is preferred.
Technical report writing skills.
Communication skills and ability to collaborate.
Software knowledge of AutoCad, Civil 3D, Envista ARM and MS Office.
Relevant experience that includes environmental testing or analytical laboratory experience is desired.
Knowledge in the practices required to generate valid scientific data.
Able to work both independently and in a project team environment.
Ability to record test data legibly, completely, and accurately.
Ability to work on the field for process measurements and data collection.
Aptitude for operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Ability to recognize hazards and work safely in an industrial setting.
Show initiative and interest in professional development.
Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Information
Must be willing and capable of working outdoors year-round, climb ladders and stairs, and work at elevated heights.
Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and hoisting test equipment weighing possibly up to 50 lbs.
Pre-employment motor vehicle driving record verification will be conducted.
