Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated candidate for employment in the Saskatoon, Canada office. This position will be a temporary assignment that will last from May 1st, 2018 to December 21st, 2018.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide resident engineering services to projects either individually or as part of a larger project team. Services may include:

  • Construction supervision and inspections

  • Topographic and construction surveying

  • Measuring and tracking quantities

  • Calculating grades, volumes, distances, etc.

  • Compiling reports

  • Drafting and design of various civil and water resources projects

  • Ensuring the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner

  • Working with and maintaining a positive relationship with clients and contractors

  • Work in both office and field settings

  • Field assignments may involve travel, shift work, and long hours.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of or currently enrolled in a Civil based engineering or technology program (preference given to graduates and students who are further along in their education).

  • Experience working in the engineering or construction sectors.

  • Accuracy with details and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

  • Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience collecting preliminary survey data using GPS, Total Station Technology and/or conventional survey equipment is preferred

  • Experience performing construction layout surveys is an asset

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and design software such as Civil 3D is desired.

  • Sound understanding of drawing layouts using pre-established standards on items such as text styles, blocks, etc.
