AECOM Electrical Engineer in Training in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Job Summary

AECOM 's Saskatoon office is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Training to join the Water team. The successful candidate will support design and contract administration of water & wastewater treatment and conveyance projects.

Our projects require a wide range of considerations including the design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems, standby power generation and transfer systems, motor control systems, as well as instrumentation and control system design.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under the guidance of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited University + 2 years industry experience since graduation

  • Currently registered as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (or ability to register within 6 months)

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Consulting, or experience in water / wastewater treatment or pumping applications

  • Field experience with start-up and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation and controls systems

  • Working knowledge of design tools including AutoCad, REVIT, MS Access

  • Knowledge of P&IDs, electrical single line diagrams, communications and control schematics, process control narratives.
