Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented MEP Resident Engineer for immediate employment for the San Francisco, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Manage interactions between SFO personnel, contractor and other project teams to minimize conflicts between projects and insure a single, holistic and unified design for the Terminal 1 Center project and the Boarding Area B project.

  • Organize meetings between stakeholders, contractors and SFO management to communicate requests from airport staff, design imperatives and overall system objectives. Assist with temporary measures to insure continuity of service to the traveling public and maintain safety and security at all times.

  • Coordinate documentation and direction from the owner and owner’s representatives to the contractor and from the contractor to the owner.

  • Attend Contractor weekly meetings and coordination meeting with Boarding Area B personnel including schedule interactions, access requirements and construction sequencing.

  • Review pertinent submittals and requests for information regarding mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Review any comments to insure adequacy and responsiveness.

  • Negotiate cost changes and authorizations. Work with the estimating staff to adequately determine accuracy and fairness of contractor’s cost estimates.

  • Review schedule submittals for impacts and provide recommendations to correct any schedule delays or take advantage of any opportunity to accelerate the schedule.

  • Assist with designing and implementing the Project-wide commissioning and activation process including Sustainability, Airport and Functional testing sequences. Work with Commissioning contractor to obtain data, witness tests and schedule.

  • Review design recommendations for systems that impact building management and performance including: Building Management Systems, Fire Alarm System, Energy Management Control Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, Lighting Control, Dynamic Glazing, Metering and Emergency Fuel Shutoff Systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years' experience

  • Highly collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a multitude of stakeholders as well as various contractors and subcontractors across all MEP disciplines

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated history of taking initiative and achieving results

Preferred Qualifications

  • An understanding of systems commissioning and activation is a plus

  • Airport design and construction experience a plus
