AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Structural Engineer for immediate employment for the San Diego, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope for the respective specialty
Lead, oversee and/or supervise assigned departmental personnel on projects and monitor their individual technical performance, providing guidance and direction, as needed
Serve as quality control reviewer
Initiate and complete the correction of any conditions which may adversely affect the completion of the project on schedule and within budget
Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments in his/her specific field
Contribute inventions, new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems
Take necessary actions to ensure the project proceeds on schedule and within budget limitations
Perform Construction Administrative services such as review shop drawings and responses to Requests For Information (RFIs)
Implement and follow Company Quality Management System procedures
Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering (or similar)
10+ years of experience
Professional Engineer registered in State of California or ability to obtain through comity
Extensive knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures
Broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of practices of related specialties
Experience in finite element analysis modeling, including shell, plate and solid elements
Proficient in developing plans, specifications and engineering estimates meeting company and client standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Proficient with AutoCAD
Ability to work under pressure
Strong organizational skills
Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations
Ability to lead, supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, CADD drafters, technicians and others who assist in specific assignments
Working knowledge of ETABS, SAP, and Enercalc
Familiarity in developing documents in Revit
