Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Geotechnical Engineer for immediate employment for the Sacramento, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical projects

  • Planning, implementing and leading geotechnical field investigations

  • Logging geotechnical explorations

  • Guiding staff engineers in performing material characterization, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses, foundation and retaining wall design

  • Preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications

  • Supporting project manager in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks

  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards

  • Conducting field observations and site visits

  • Assisting project managers with geotechnical proposals

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering or other related field required

  • 10+ years' experience

  • Licensed as Professional Engineer in US state with ability to obtain California license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Knowledge of industry standard computer software such as: Excel, Word, gINT, GeoStudio, UTexas4, and AutoCAD and/or Civil3D)
