AECOM Engineer III – Mechanical HVAC Engineering in Roanoke - VA, Virginia

Job Summary

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program

  • 5+ years of experience with an architectural/engineering firm providing mechanical/plumbing drafting services, including 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) for commercial and institutional facilities

  • AutoCAD, REVIT experience

  • Proficient in the use of computers for developing engineering drawings

  • Prior experience completing primary design elements in preparing Mechanical HVAC tasks and Construction Documents

  • A valid driver's license is required

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) registration

  • Experience with BIM (Revit or AECOsim) software

  • Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance

  • Working knowledge of Mechanical systems analysis tools (TRANE Trace or Equivalent Load Program, Various Selection Programs, Etc.)

  • Direct experience in Department of Defense, Health Care, and Government facilities

  • Experience working on projects that were executed using REVIT or a similar 3D BIM Product
