Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented, motivated and experienced Climate Adaptation Specialist for immediate employment in the Roanoke, VA office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Setups and maintains multiple models for production in the Autodesk REVIT software

  • Coordinates and incorporates current BIM model standards with Client BIM standards and requirements

  • Manages models ensuring BIM models remain free from errors, maintain and prepare BIM Standards, prepare cost estimates, and assist in optimization of REVIT workflows

  • Development of electrical power and distribution design concepts with architects, engineers and owners; Design of lighting, fire alarm, communications systems, in building

  • Prepares contract documents, and prepares progress reports

  • Ensures design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards

  • Travels to construction sites to conduct Electrical inspections and prepare reports

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk REVIT MEP and AutoCad MEP

  • Displayed ability to execute complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments on time and within budget. Understands overall project constraints including design budget limitations and schedule requirements.

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines. Effective written and verbal communication skills a must.

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance within 3 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Coursework or Relevant Certification

  • Autodesk certification in REVIT and AutoCad software’s.

  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code

  • Electrical design experience in buildings and facilities engineering

  • Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance

  • Working knowledge of Electrical system analysis tools (E-TAP or SKM)

  • Working knowledge of lighting analysis tools (AGI, ElumTools)

  • Direct experience in Department of Defense, Health Care, and Government facilities
