Job Summary


Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work.

  • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

  • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility.

  • Develop and maintain production throughput and changeover models.Have a thorough understanding of model assumptions.Continually assess opportunities to improve model efficiency.

  • Track integrated production and changeover schedules.Gather and process data such as schedules, logic diagrams, resources, and cost estimates.

  • Access production data from Facility Control System Historian and other sources as required assessing plant performance against the plan.Produce reports, graphics, and metrics to communicate plant performance to other departments, corporate management, and the Government as required.

  • Analyze production data and operations logs to perform equipment failure analysis, identify production bottlenecks, and identify recommendations to improve production efficiency and reduce production costs.

  • Facilitate operations, maintenance, and other plant support activities to achieve established production goals.

  • Produce routine production schedule and changeover schedule reports to support daily plant production activities.Produce special schedule reports as required.

  • Responsible for the implementation of and maintenance of various databases, analytical systems, spreadsheets and graphics for production control programs.

  • Monitors and analyzes equipment failure frequency, plant throughput, machine availability, process stop feeds, equipment downtime, demilitarization protective ensemble entries and aborts, and other factors affecting facility and plant performance.

  • Utilizes demilitarization operations knowledge, collects plant operating data, site performance statistics and supporting data to maintain or create databases for analyses, reporting, or updating of key project milestones.

Responsible for analyzing facility production information, statistics and data for trending, for use in writing reports, generating presentations, and making recommendations to improve facility availability, plant throughput capacity and factors limiting site productivity.

Minimum Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, economics or related field and 5 years’ experience in production planning


  • Associate degree in business administration, economics or related field and 9 years’ experience in production planning


  • High school diploma or equivalent and 13 years’ experience in production planning

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) site access

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment

  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any depot or BGCAPP drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement

  • Considerable knowledge of the operations processes and related activities and requirements

  • Able to work with people of varied backgrounds and myriad objectives, reach consensus on complex issues in a timely manner, and performing complex, interrelated tasks in an efficient, effective and timely manner

This position is designated as an unescorted access position and is subject to the requirements of the Unescorted Access Program (UAP). As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Blue Grass Army Depot Commander.

  • Considerable experience making real time process and production recommendations to plant management

  • Experience creating, using and maintaining electronic spreadsheets (including charting) and databases
