AECOM Project Archaeologist in Richmond Hill, Ontario
The AECOM Cultural Resources Team is currently seeking a Project Archaeologist to work out of any one of our Ontario AECOM Offices to contribute to the growth and diversification of our archaeology team. The successful candidate will assist in managing, coordinating, and completing various archaeological assessments and associated reporting in accordance with provincial standards while meeting the needs of our diverse range of clientele.

Bachelor’s Degree in archaeology, anthropology (or in progress), or a related field. Cover letters must demonstrate how education in a related field is an acceptable equivalent.
4+ years of related experience (including 1 year consulting experience in Project Management role and 3+ years of field experience)
Experience with field effort tracking- i.e. collection and management of all field data
Must support the management of projects from the proposal phase to report completion, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams to successfully execute project deliverables.
Experience completing archaeological reports in compliance with the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries' (MHSTCI) standards.
Familiarity with the MHSTCI's archaeology and heritage online portal (Past Portal).
Firm understanding of the MHSTCI's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
Experience preparing and implementing field health and safety materials.
Pre-contact and historic artifact cataloguing experience.
Valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport
Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics for multiple field teams
Complete projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations.
Ability to coordinate with subcontractors.
Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
