AECOM Electrician Apprentice in Red Deer, Alberta

AECOM is currently seeking an Electrician Apprentice to join the NOVA project team on site near Red Deer, Alberta. This is a TEMPORARY position to support upcoming Summer Turnaround on a 4/3 shift schedule. Start dates varies from July-August, 2021.
The selected incumbent must be based out of Red Deer or surrounding areas to be flexible in travelling to project location site, as required.
Electricians install, alter, repair and maintain electrical systems designed to provide heat, light, power, control, signal or fire alarms for all types of buildings, structures and premises.
Electrician Apprentice will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
Be able to take directions, and receptive to training and mentoring
Expertly identify and able to proficiently install almost all material components
Proficient conduit skills
Proficient circuitry planning and installations
Proficiently read and comprehend drawings and specifications
Proficient control systems planning and installation
Proficient tool usage, both personal (personal tools minimum listed below) and supplied:
Water pump pliers
Needle nose pliers
#6 screwdriver – Robertson
#8 screwdriver – Robertson
Small flat screwdriver
Large flat screwdriver
½ - 1 ¼ KO cutters
3/8 socket set
Open end wrench to 1”
Allan wrench set
14” Pipe wrench
Size, plan and install electrical services
Proficient with multiple types of installations
Adhering to safe work practices and procedures
Maintain exceptional workmanship
Proficient multi-meter, Meggar and AMP-Meter usage
Basic ARC Flash awareness
Mentor junior Apprentices

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
