AECOM Project Manager - Disaster Management Services (Housing-focused) in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM holds vast experience across the entire disaster lifecycle and actively provides services across the spectrum, thus the candidate’s ability to provide advisory support to company leadership evaluating opportunities, while simultaneously engaging in the delivery of services will be vital to their success. It is expected that the selected candidate will reside in the Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern United States, with the ability to travel as needed in the pursuit of opportunities or relocate temporarily for delivery of an awarded

contract. Note, for purposes of considering this position, the expectation is that project related relocation would be confined to the Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern United States, CONUS or Caribbean.

The Project Manager will be a leader in the implementation of disaster management services for AECOM, to include a specific focus on housing recovery missions. The Project Manager will have a working to expert understanding of Federal programs, meaning they understand the related policies and procedures to design, implement, and close-out a compliant FEMA or HUD funded recovery program - with a particular focus on housing missions. With an increasing probability and impact of disasters year-over-year, the selected candidate is expected to remain apprised of sector factors that will impact the offer and delivery of these services – for example, attend conferences, participate in panel discussions or similar industry activities as a brand representative for AECOM. The ideal candidate will be able to provide examples of experience where they have delivered the aforementioned services across a number of disasters either CONUS or OCUNUS in the last 5 years.

Additional details for delivery of disaster related services include:

  • Contributes to business development activities that can include strategy and opportunity development, positioning, teaming and proposal development (i.e. content and message development NOT format and production);

  • Transitions throughout the project lifecycle from coordinating subordinates to facilitating peers or advising leadership;

  • Leads project delivery in coordination with functional leadership and project team members as needed for both project management or construction management programs.

  • Within individual's area of responsibility, consistently identifies potential project problems or opportunities in a proactive manner, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

  • Maintains a record of successfully managing project resources for internal and external ROIs.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or 10 years relevant experience in lieu of degree

Proven experience as a Project Manager or Deputy on multi-million dollar disaster-related programs or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Project or Construction Manager

Fluent in Spanish

At least 10 years consulting experience
