AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead in our Mission Critical/Advanced Technologies practice for immediate employment for the Portland, OR office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Mechanical Team leadership and development in the Pacific Region

  • Participation in development of proposals and responses to RFPs

  • Development of system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images)

  • Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early design phases in order to share intent either internally for further development, or externally to assist design partners

  • CAD/REVIT/BIM design

  • Coordinate mechanical system design with electrical engineers, architects, and other disciplines

  • Coordinate with other market segments, and business groups (construction) to win/deliver work

  • Review / Edit technical specifications

  • Construction Administration (CA) responsibilities

  • Review team member work for quality and recognition of training requirements

  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm

  • Professional Engineer / Mechanical

  • Experience with sustainable design and creating innovative design solutions

  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practices

  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills

  • Thrive as a leader in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team

  • Enjoy developing innovative solutions to challenging opportunities

  • Have a high degree of integrity, professional ethics, respect and responsibility

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit

  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to the office

  • Ambitious and eager to grow

  • Eager to be part of an organization that is built to create a better world

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

  • Proven success in leading pursuits and managing long term clients

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publication of technical articles



  • CEM designation

  • Experience in the following markets:

  • Corporate, Commercial and Mixed Use

  • Mission Critical/High-Tech
