Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a

Network / Systems Administrator in support of NAVAIR efforts in

Point Mugu, CA .

This is a contingent position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Developing functional requirements for complex integrated systems.

  2. Analyzes user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements.

  3. Performs functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships.

  4. Identifies resources required for each task.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.

  • 5+ years’ System Administration and/or Network Administration experience on UNIX (Linux, Sun, HP-UX etc.), Windows, OpenVMS etc.

  • 3+ years’ experience in end user technical support.

  • Must have CompTIA Security+ Certification or a willingness to obtain one.

  • Trained in information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.

  • Possess demonstrated skills, knowledge, and technical competence in the management of networks, both hardware and software. This must include network topology, standards, and protocols.

  • Possess a good understanding of network software (Exchange, WorkFlow, etc.) as well as the Microsoft Office Professional suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Possess knowledge and hands-on experience administering, and 7 workstations as well as Server 2003 and/or 2008.

  • Strong knowledge of networks and technical trouble shooting.

  • Strong problem-solving solutions.

  • Possess a “Get it done” attitude and the drive to problem solve.

  • Ability to be self-driven and focused in a “Low Stress” environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work as a team member yet also individually.

  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates, Bachelors or other degree in a technical field highly desired.

  • Technical certifications related to networking or development.

  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting.

  • Experience with some form UNIX Shell scripting is a plus.
