AECOM Archaeologist-OSW Policy Specialist in Pocasset, Massachusetts

Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate need for an Archaeologist for a short-term, on-call position in Pocasset or Chelmsford, MA.

The responsibilities or this position include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Plans, schedules, and organizes all phases of a major project work activities related to scientific needs, ensures proper manpower budgets and controls and monitors expenditures and progress on projects

  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require regular use of scientific principles and the application of experience/lessons learned

  • Leads specific tasks and objectives by guiding the completion of major programs (may hold a project leadership role)

  • Applies extensive technical expertise to perform and publish research without appreciable direction

  • Primary author or lead reviewer on major project documents

  • Position requires extensive progressive experience

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM’s global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals – to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field

  • 10+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience must include demonstrated OSW/Interconnect regulatory policy experience in Massachusetts

  • Must meet the standards of an Archaeologist by Secretary of Interior

  • Experience in the OSW/Power/Public Utility sector desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related preferred

  • Highly desired - candidate with excellent communication skills internally and to clients
