Position Title Senior Construction Inspector

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Construction Inspector for immediate employment for the Phoenix, AZ office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day inspection and quality assurance of projects with minimal supervision.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect information from various sources to fully understand and enforce contract documents such as standard specifications, plans, and special provisions

  • Perform and check the accuracy of complex computations including those performed by other staff

  • Analyze the contractor schedule to plan out the inspection of projects in their entirety

  • Attend/Conduct pre-activity meetings for various construction activities such as asphaltic concrete, PCCP, striping and major structures

  • Prepare daily diaries including description of contractor work activities and will be responsible to perform various measurements for payment

  • Gather data, measurements to be used in the inspection and quality assurance of various construction activities

  • Observe work in progress to ensure conformity with engineering specifications

  • Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment

  • Will require minimum supervision while performing repetitive tasks

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in related field inspector position

  • Basic knowledge of construction practices

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Shall possess the ability to work and communicate well with others in a construction setting

  • Has the ability to perform basic computations and calculations

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Municipalities local City/ADOT experience

  • ATTI

  • ACI


  • SWPPP Certifications

  • Traffic control
