AECOM is actively seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical practice in the Phoenix, AZ office. This position will involve working with a multidisciplinary team of civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, environmental engineers, and geologists all of which work together to conceive, permit, design and construct large projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize geotechnical engineering knowledge and experience in support of our dams, power, and mining design practices
Provide mentoring and leadership to junior engineers
Lead and perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and seismic
Coordinate field exploration, collect samples, analyze data and review geotechnical samples for laboratory testing
Prepare technical memoranda and design reports
Prepare presentations for projects and proposals
Coordinate with clients and manage projects for new and existing mining, power, dams, and municipal clients
Support the team in developing design criteria and overall design approach
Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical engineering or other related field required
5+ years' experience
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as: Excel, Word, gINT, GeoStudio)
Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues
Demonstrate excellent communication skills including technical writing
Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, environmental engineers, and geologists
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
- Master's Degree preferred
