Position Title Senior Civil Aviation Engineer

AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is seeking a Senior Civil Aviation Engineer for the AECOM Philadelphia office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Providing technical leadership for all Aviation Engineering staff for within an AECOM center of excellence for aviation planning and design
Provide technical oversight for a diverse array of airside and landside civil design and construction service projects supporting the AECOM Aviation Market Segment.
Coordination with similar practices throughout the AECOM organization including regional coordination within AECOM national technical practice networks.
Leadership for continued growth of the practice in terms of size and capabilities of staff and in terms of trust and relations with clients, both internal and external. Includes involvement in client development and project pursuits.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
15 years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on aviation civil design
Professional Engineering (PE) License
Extensive leadership experience in the development of project deliverables including Plans, Specifications and Estimates
Extensive knowledge and application of local and regional airport design standards
Experience in development of technical approaches, project scopes and price proposals
Knowledge and proven application of quality assurance
Proven mentorship of staff toward technical capabilities advancement and career development
Success leading project technical staff (delegating responsibilities, holding staff accountable, solving problems effectively and efficiently, aligning resources with needs, providing mentorship, meeting schedules/budgets, etc)
Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between project delivery and future project selection
Demonstrated knowledge of project risk potential and experience minimizing risk exposure.
Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required
Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience in design/build and other alternative delivery projects
3+ years of experience in leading technical staff in a supervisory role
Proven ability to recruit, engage and retain staff within aviation engineering practice (provide growth opportunities, comfortable work atmosphere, job satisfaction, etc.)
