The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide engineering support to the various ON-Call engineering contracts currently in place with CSX Transportation, and Norfolk Southern as required
Engineering review of plans
Preparation of estimates,
Preparation of written correspondence
Processing of correspondence via e-mails or letters,
Negotiations with adjacent property owners as well as Initiating correspondence as required
Assisting with railroad inquires, and reproduction and distribution of incoming documents
Electronic database management usage, review, handling, tracking and filing various documents as part of the overall Program
Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university
5+ years of experience in the rail industry and with Norfolk Southern’s Real Property Management System
Work cooperatively with others
Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong interpersonal skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills; Perform other tasks, as needed.
This position requires a detailed-oriented person with excellent interpersonal skills
Position will require client and stakeholder interaction
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Understands working in a railroad environment, including safety requirements
Experience corresponding with stakeholders and railroad clients about sensitive topics and information
