Position Title Electrical Lead Designer

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Lead Designer in our Overland Park, KS office.
Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, develop required plant engineering drawings.
Meet project schedules and ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and coordinated with other discipline groups.
Work closely with the Supervising Electrical Engineer to develop and monitor project schedule, budget, and manpower/staffing requirements, including any potential delays or adverse issues.
Coordinate with other discipline groups, and review other discipline documents and vendor documents for accuracy and to resolve discrepancies.
Provide technical guidance for related electrical subjects to others.
Oversee preparation of drawings, layouts, and 3D models.
Prepare designs and drawings in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Ensure quality, quantity, and completeness of assigned design tasks and deliverables.
Understand relative industry codes and standards, and assist in interpretation of codes and standards.
Have working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, as well as other standard industry-related software products.
Assist in training and mentoring other team members.
Must have advanced electrical design experience including:
Electrical Equipment Requirements and Layouts
Above and Below Grade Cable and Raceway Systems
Proper sizing for Cable, Conduit, Cable Tray, including Circuit Routing and Raceway Fill Calculations
Lighting design and Lighting Level Calculations
Grounding, Lightning Protection designs and details
Electrical Installation Details, including Instrumentation
Development of related Bills of Material for drawings
Tracking of project Cable and Raceway quantities
- Associates Degree in the electrical discipline or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 8+ years of experience as an electrical designer.
AutoCAD 2D experience in plant electrical design.
- 3D plant design is strongly recommended
