Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking for an experienced Testing & Commissioning Specialist with specialized skills in Railway Systems, to join our Transit & Rail Systems Team and work with a multidisciplinary team delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects located in Ottawa, ON.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate shall have proven experience performing Testing & Commissioning supervision, attend, witness, and report, on behalf of the Client, Testing and Commissioning activities related to the overall technical scope, including the Rail Systems. The candidates will function as an onsite representative and therefore be required to report to site daily in Ottawa and attend scheduled Testing and Commissioning activities as required.
Help develop strategic plans; build relationships with public and private clients (contractors) and the industry leaders.
Help grow the T&C service in the Transit & Rail Systems practice by the development of pursuit strategies, technical concepts, and proposal technical approaches
Work within a team structure and deliver an effective technical strategy to manage fit for purpose engineering design and safe project delivery in line with defined employer requirements.
Preparation, approval, issue, and management of technical specifications.
Undertake project governance roles as required.
Working understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including V&V, Systems Architecture, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, and Interface Management.
Perform various test witnessing activities, ranging from Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Post-Installation Check-Out (PICO), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Site Integration Test (SIT), do Dry Runs and Revenue Service Demonstration
Review and provide quality checks and comments on Test Procedures and Test Reports.
Provide comments and pass/fail checks on Inspection and Test Plans and other test recording forms.
Application of FM engineering plans to meet quality standards.
Quality assurance of new vehicles during the commissioning process
Represent the Client and/or Project Management in audits, off-site equipment inspection, remedy demonstrations, and other T&C related activities, as required.
Conduct spot checks and inspections and report on status of internal Contractor's testing preparations and activities.
Provide periodic report with photos that summarizes the T&C witnessed activates for the reporting period, and any issues witnessed during the onsite presence.
Witness re-testing activities to clear failed tests and test functions.
Provide witnessing signature on all testing activities identified as hold points for the Client.
Identify and raise safety issues and concerns to the HSE manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering Field + 6 years experience performing Testing & Commissioning and operations and maintenance activities on Railway or similar projects.
Driving License
Preferred Qualifications :
Masters Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
PEng is ideal
10+ years of experience working in a project site environment
Ideally 10+ years of experience working on transit & rail Systems.
5+ years of experience working in a Railway Project
Used to implement and work under the principles of standards such as ISO 15288 + 24748 + 29148: Systems Engineering Life Cycle processes & Interface management.
ISO 9001:2015 standard
Experience in system assurance
