Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Drainage Engineer for employment in the Orlando Florida area. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in performing engineering analysis for roadway associated with Transportation Projects. As an AECOM Drainage engineer you can look forward to projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout Florida. You will also be responsible for developing strong working relationships with clients and staff plus maintain a high level of project standards and meeting or ideally exceeding client expectations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs engineering analysis and plans preparation associated with roadway infrastructure improvements

  • Works under the direction of senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation projects

  • Understands applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures

  • Assists in design of collection and conveyance systems for transportation projects

  • Assists in design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Civil Engineering degree2+ years of engineering experiencePerform drainage design and production for transportation projects including calculations and plans preparationPrior experience as drainage engineer on civil or transportation projectsExperience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems Must be able to communicate effectively; verbal and written

  • Engineering Intern (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Florida Licensed Professional Engineer or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months

  • Experience in design of drainage conveyance systems and plans preparation in compliance with FDOT standards

  • Experience in design of ponds

  • Experience in the following software: Geopak, Inroads, Corridor Modeling, Autoturn, Microstation or other equivalent CAD software
