AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Building Engineering Leader for the Los Angeles or Orange, CA office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Team leadership and development

  • Growth of building engineering practice through the engagement of both internal and external client networks

  • Proposal development

  • Client identification, management, and growth

  • Drive a quality based culture of engineering to support our clients, both internal and external

  • Develop system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images)

  • Review / Edit specifications

  • Review team member work for quality and recognition of training requirements

  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Structural Engineering

  • 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm successfully leading multidisciplinary teams

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer

  • Documented experience with advanced design, and aesthetically challenging design with high profile architecture firms

  • Experience with sustainable design

  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practices

  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills

  • Thrive as a leader in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team

  • Enjoy developing innovative solutions to challenging opportunities

  • Have a high degree of integrity, professional ethics, respect and responsibility

  • Experience with AutoCAD/Revit (Revit is preferred)

  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to the office

  • Ambitious and eager to grow

  • Ability to analyze and provide solutions

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

  • Proven success in leading pursuits and managing long term clients

  • Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early design phases in order to share intent either internally for further development, or externally to assist design partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publication of technical articles

  • LEED AP

  • WELL AP

  • CEM designation

  • Experience in the following markets:

  • Corporate, Commercial and Mixed Use

  • Themed Entertainment & Hospitality

  • Sports Arenas

  • Federal DoD

  • Federal Civilian & Local Government
