Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and detail-oriented GIS Specialist for immediate employment in the Omaha, Nebraska, office. The appropriately qualified applicant will use Esri’s ArcGIS suite of products on a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects, developing cartographic and data deliverables and providing geodatabase management.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating, editing, and maintaining geospatial databases and metadata on multiple simultaneous projects using ArcGIS software products

  • Developing mobile GPS/GIS and web solutions and applications to support project field efforts

  • Reviewing data for currency, accuracy, quality, or completeness, and performing GIS analysis and map production for a variety of projects

  • Proactively evaluating optimal and efficient solutions to geospatial problems on projects

  • Working closely with project staff to produce detailed and concise mapping output for client delivery

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, environmental science, or a related field

  • 3+ years of related ArcGIS experience

  • Experience using Esri ArcGIS (10.x), as well as the 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions, to collect, manage, process, and map spatial data

  • Familiarity with GIS data management and data transformation implementations for spatial and non-spatial applications

  • Ability to organize, manage, and display environmental data in a clear, concise manner, and to work cooperatively with multiple project managers and technical staff on simultaneous project assignments

  • Excellent professional, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coding/scripting for the ArcGIS environment

  • Experience with mobile data collection, including Trimble GPS and RTK units

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
