Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician II to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK!

  • Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

Ideal for a self-directed technician motivated to learn more, this multi-craft position supports our team of one licensed HVAC mechanic and one licensed electrician and assists with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing emergency repairs on the building equipment, fixtures and systems. Excellent customer service attitude is required!

May perform preventive maintenance and repair to mechanical equipment and systems; electrical systems where a trade license is not required; internal building structure ( walls, doors, ceiling, and floors ), general plumbing , including eye wash stations; and docks and levelers, etc.

Your dedication to your craft is an asset! Highly desired qualifications include:

  • 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance in a large commercial, logistics, or industrial grade environment

  • HVAC/R education, training, or experience

  • Trade license

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs all types of electrical and mechanical facilities equipment.

  • Replaces lamps and repairs lighting systems.

  • Performs basic plumbing repairs.

  • Performs office furniture, window, door and hardware repairs. Repairs floor and wall coverings.

  • Perform inspections, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  2. Two years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment a large commercial, logistics, or industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information:

  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Associate’s degree or trade school certification in HVAC, Industrial Electrical, Industrial Mechanical, or a related skilled trade.

  2. Five years of experience in large-scale facility maintenance in a warehouse, retail complex, hospital, or related industrial grade environment.

  3. Oklahoma State HVAC license, such as AC-L,REF-1,HE-l,or SM-1.

  4. EPA Universal / CFC Certification

  5. Exposure to troubleshooting and repairing mechanical building systems, including conveyor systems and doors.

  6. Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

  7. Working knowledge of 480V 3 phase power systems.

  8. Basic knowledge of process chiller operation.

  9. Demonstrated understanding of refrigeration and electrical systems.

  10. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, work specifications, permitting requirements, and local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

Other Attributes:

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
