Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Finance Analyst for immediate employment for the Oakland, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Setup, develop and control spreadsheets and workbooks for project tracking and reporting.

  • Assists Project Manager with cost and schedule aspects of medium to large sized, complexity and risk projects.

  • Assist Project Manager with submitting proper job setup data, forms and attachments.

  • Assist Project Manager with setting up invoice, including format, required backup attachments and rates per client requirements, timing, review process, and plan for follow-up on any past due accounts receivable.

  • Review and report on project metrics regularly and advise Project Manager of discrepancies or issues, investigating variances in data as needed, especially concerning invoicing clients, accounts receivable, subcontractor invoices, approval and payments, and other accounts payables.

  • Review and track subcontractor invoices, coding as necessary, and escalating issues to Project Manager.

  • Prepare contract forms for new contracts, modifications and job closures.

  • Review invoices for consistency with contract requirements and rates.

  • Coordinate with Contract Administrators in preparing contracts with clients and sub-consultants, as well as contract modifications, etc.

  • Interacts with Project Managers and accounting staff on a regular basis.

  • Prepare reports for Project Managers, Stakeholders and clients.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in business, finance, or construction management related field.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.

  • Familiarity with fundamentals of contracts and project accounting principles.

  • Understanding of contract terms, accounting principles, and billing procedures.

  • Strong problem solving, organizational, people, math and accounting skills.

  • Proficient in Excel (ability to manipulate pivot tables, formula, vlookups, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
