AECOM Civil Manager in Oakland, California

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented and motivated individual to be our Senior Coastal Engineer/Project Manager reporting to the Oakland, CA office. You will lead projects related to coastal hazard analyses, hydrodynamic modeling, coastal process analyses, floodplain mapping, coastal restoration, mitigation projects, beach nourishment, and shoreline protection. This role will include direct interaction with federal, state and local agencies. You’ll serve as a technical resource as well as directly contribute to the technical delivery of the project deliverables and participate in project decisions regarding technical approach, cost, scheduling, and performance including; planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff.

AECOM’s coastal engineers are working on some of the most significant coastal and ocean projects on the planet. They are meeting the challenges of working in the harsh marine environment from the high arctic to the deep tropics where they deal daily with highly dynamic live loads, massive lateral wind and seismic loads, poor soils, intense sedimentation, corrosion and a sensitive ecosystem with variable water levels, heavy seas, and constant shoreline movement

Minimum Requirements

  • Senior Coastal Engineer with California PE and Master’s Degree or higher.

  • 25 or more years’ experience in coastal engineering especially modeling of coastal processes.

  • Ability to manage projects and mentor staff.

  • Previous experience and good working relationships with Federal, State and local agencies especially the USACE and FEMA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • International Experience a plus.
