Chemical Engineer -Technical Services Engineer 3 to be based in our Oak Ridge, TN location. The Engineer is responsible for perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Job Description:

Responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas under close supervision.

  • Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review.

  • Assist in generation of specifications and engineering data.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence.

  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.

  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

  • Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with 5 years of experience in an Engineering setting

  • Experience with chemical engineering in field and design work. Ability to perform calculations and analysis of chemical engineering problems.

  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Experience with DOE

  • PE License Preferred

  • GPA for 3.0 or higher is desired
