Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Water Truck Operator to be based in our Norman Wells, North West Territories location.

Reporting to the field coordinator or crew supervisor, this position requires professional driving experience and the ability to operate large motorized trucks and equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Operating fluid haul oilfield equipment including loading and unloading liquid products

  • Transporting sludge/slurry, foam products, hot liquids

  • Performing pre and post trip inspection, keep record of logs, paperwork

  • Maintaining all tools and equipment to the required standards

  • Driving safely and professionally, obeying all traffic rules at all times

  • Participating fully in job observations, near miss and HID reporting, site inspections, weekly and monthly safety meetings, and tailgate meetings

  • Identifying and mitigating safety hazards

Responsibilities may include:

  • Execute assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner

  • Ability to work unsupervised

  • Meet established timeline (e.g. work with dispatch)

  • Make critical decisions (e.g. regarding exposure to H2S, equipment limits)

  • Carry out detailed procedures (e.g. set of steps to follow

  • Meet safety standards and AECOM Core Values

  • Interact with other operators/supervisors

  • Maintain all AECOM tools and equipment to the required standards

  • Drive safely and professionally, obeying all traffic rules at all times

  • Participate fully in such things as job observations, near miss and HID reporting, site inspections, weekly and monthly safety meetings, and tailgate meetings

  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards

  • Ensure that all training is kept current

  • Understand and utilize the right and responsibility to stop unsafe work

  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities

This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.

Minimum Requirements

  • A valid Class 1/A or 3/Q driver’s license or equivalent is required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Air break endorsement is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes

  • Successfully completion of AECOM Alcohol & Drug testing

  • Clean driver's abstract required

  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification required

  • H2S Alive Certification required

  • First Aid Certification required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous verifiable Oilfield experience

  • A minimum of one year of fluid haul driving and operating experience would be considered an asset

  • GODI preferred
