AECOM Submarine LAN Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Submarine LAN Administrator to provide technical support to ships force insuring the system is operating as designed. Will also provide On the Job Training to the system operators. The position will be located at Naval Station, Norfolk, VA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide onboard and TYCOM administrative support, onboard training and monitoring of the SubLAN system

  2. Provide technical support to SubLAN systems, Non-SubLAN client laptops and workstations

  3. Provide training to the fleet’s LAN administrators for maintenance and administration procedures

  4. Conduct periodic assessment of the submarine crew LAN administration capabilities, establish and provide ongoing crew training

  5. Mentor ships force with system backups, switch configurations, software configurations

  6. Conduct periodic assessments of submarine crew LAN administration capabilities and establish and provide ongoing periodic training to submarine crews

  7. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualifications matrix

  8. Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2

Minimum Requirements

  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 10 years of job-related experience or equivalent.

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Requires the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

  • Submarine SubLAN experience required.

  • Specialized Experience: Six years full-time engineering experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test and/or repair of submarine mechanical/electrical and or electronic systems/equipment. Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective actions.

  • General Experience: Eight years full-time technical experience in the design, test, and/or repair of mechanical/electrical/electronic systems/equipment.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Requires a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior SubLAN Administrator Experience
